Young, Gifted & Black (YGB) 2008 Entrepreneurial Awards
Honors Black History Month
Wednesday, February 27th 2008

Tuesday, February 5th 2008 (New York City)

The 'Continued Pursuit of Success' has become the motto by which The NetLinkz Group, Inc., a New York City based Special Events Planning and Marketing firm headed by Carl O. Gray, President & CEO, embarks on the Third Annual Young, Gifted & Black (YGB) Entrepreneurial Awards to honor Black History month in 2008.

The Third Annual YGB Entrepreneurial Awards program as in other years places an emphasis on an individual's perseverance to reach levels of success through hard work and determination.  There isn’t a formal selection criterion to receive this award, rather than a peer-to-peer acknowledgement & appreciation of the awardees drive for success outlined by where they have been in life to where they are now as ambassadors of the entrepreneurial spirit.  This year's program features Lorraine Cortes-Vazquez, Secretary of State of New York, under Governor Elliot Spitzer as an award recipient & key note speaker.  In honoring Black History month,  the individuals selected are also being acknowledged based on their Talents, Ambition & Achievements Toward The Continued Pursuit of Success! Mr. Gray feels that there are many individuals in our lives that do not get the accreditations or notoriety because they are not mentioned in the media, but they are impactful at what they do for their industry and community.  A major difference to the awards presentation from previous years is that some of the individuals receiving the honor were done through a external nomination rather than being chosen directly by Mr. Gray.

The 2008 awardees will include the following confirmed individuals:

  • Colin & Latisha Daring – Owners – Pieces of Brooklyn –

The YGB Awards program began in 2006 as a means to bring exposure to everyday individuals that represent a positive role model to their peers and provide a means by which onlookers can become inspired and motivated.

This year's event will be held on Wednesday, February 27th 2008 from 6pm - 11pm as a Black Carpet networking reception at an undisclosed New York City location made available only to individuals who wish to attend.  There is no cost to attend since this program is a non-profit event open to the public by RSVP.  Individuals can reserve a table to dine or simple come to the event to network by submitting an RSVP and a confirmation will be provided disclosing the location.  There will be a complimentary Hor D'oeuveres & Cocktails period with entertainment provided by live band & DJ.   The awards reception starts at 8pm sharp!
